This is the U.S. playbook in foreign countries: destroy civilian infrastructure to destabilize and sow chaos, which creates the conditions they believe people will submit. Then install a puppet government or regime. This is what USA/Israel have been trying to do in Gaza.

Collective disengagement from biased or unethical outlets can be an effective strategy, especially if we combine it with clear public communication about why the disengagement is happening while loudly supporting alternative, ethical outlets that are publicly funded, local and or international (and publicly funded).

Ok! I also just wrote a letter to a science reporter at the NYT who just published a story on the disconcerting state of H5N1 without any note of the disastrous consequences the TA's hobbling of health and science organizations will have. Honestly, it seems unethical that every paper in the world isn't dominated with headlines about how many people are going to die because the FDA and CDC are not currently allowed to issue outgoing communication, and that the CDC being prevented from communicating with the WHO is even worse.
